Boot to Safe Mode (Important Step)
Login to an admin-level user account.
Open Registry Editor:
- Click Start > Run > type
regedit.exe
For 32-bit Users (x86):
Navigate to the following registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\KES10\settings
For 64-bit Users (x64):
Navigate to the following registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KasperskyLab\KES10\settings
To Disable Password Option:
Double-click on EnablePswrdProtect and change the value to 0.
To Remove the Current Password:
Double-click on OPEP and delete the value.
Finally, restart your computer.
It doesn't work. After exiting safe mode the keys return to their original values.
